Explore a variety of fun art forms by sculpting in clay, painting on canvas, and completing projects in textile and paper arts. A new project will be introduced each day.

Printmaking
Have a blast learning the basic techniques of printmaking. Using everything from tennis balls to fruits and vegetables, and even bubbles, you will explore various types of monoprinting on paper and fabric.

Clay Sculpture
Pinching, coiling, rolling, draping, paddling: explore ways clay can be used to create sculpture using handbuilding and modeling techniques. Projects will range from figurative to abstract sculptural pieces. Choose decorative finishing details to complete the projects, including painting with underglazes.

Kinetic Art
Kinetic art refers to any artwork that moves. Create colorful masterpieces that twirl and spin, and study famous artists like Alexander Calder.

All Clay
Create a variety of cool projects in potter’s clay using techniques like pinching, coiling, draping, shaping, and texturing. Make decorative sculptural pieces as well as functional pottery, and paint your finished clay art with underglazes.

Throwing on the Wheel
Form spinning clay into decorative and functional pottery pieces on the potter’s wheel. Learn the basic steps of creating and shaping clay forms. Experienced students will continue to improve their skills. Finish by trimming and decorating the hand thrown pots.

Papercraft
Folding, splattering, painting, dyeing, marbleing: Paper can be manipulated in endless ways! Explore these techniques while completing a 3D collage, learning to make paper, and building an artist’s journal to take on future adventures.

Fiber Arts
Dye it, weave it, felt it: Learn techniques that fiber artists use to manipulate fabric, creating both 2D and 3D tactile artworks.

Art Journals
Make a creative space to sketch, write, paint, collage, and more. Bind paper into a journal and experiment with a variety of creative techniques to fill it. Leave camp with finished journals ready to capture everyday inspiration.

Explore cool techniques to make images on paper and fabric. Learn the processes behind monoprinting and simple screen printing, and how to make and print with unique linoleum blocks.

On the Palette
Get immersed in a medley of techniques and media. After a brief lesson in color theory, produce paintings using watercolor, acrylics, oils, and soft pastels. From abstract works to more realistic subjects like landscapes, explore different styles on paper, canvas, and the palette.

Make imaginative pots, sculptures, and other objects. Explore traditional pottery building techniques, such as pinch-forming, sculpting, coil and slab construction methods. Finish by delving into a variety of surface techniques and color application.

Fashion Starz
Combine your flair for fashion with art as you sketch kids clothing and accessories. No previously recognized talent is expected as you work from fashion industry croquis (paper templates) standard to the fashion biz!

Learn to draw from life. Begin with simple shapes and work up to more complicated subjects in a variety of media. Even beginning artists will create successful works of art!

Go through the complete process of making two different styles of books, from the sewing of signatures (book pages) to making book covers using cloth, marbleized paper, or other materials. Gain the knowledge to create lasting hand-bound books to use for sketching, writing, and more.

To draw is to see. Learn to draw objects and human figures from life, while exploring proportion, gesture, shading, composition, and value. Use charcoal, conté sticks, pencil, ink, and water soluble graphite to produce representational and abstract artworks.

Manipulate colorful oil paints into impressive works on canvas. Learn color mixing, composition, and value to paint both abstract works and realistic subjects. Work on your own level with much individualized attention from the instructor.

Intro to Metal Jewelry
Cut, shape, hammer, solder, texture, and patina metal to craft wearable pieces! Turn copper, bronze wire, or sheet metal into a ring, pendant, and more. Learn cold connection fabrication techniques such as riveting and end the week with an introduction to soldering. Important studio safety precautions will be covered daily.
